As part of the state visit of the President of Kazakhstan to Mongolia, a historic investment agreement was signed aimed at the creation and development of a system of Earth remote sensing satellites. This project provides for the development of a satellite for Mongolia, which will become part of the common Kazakh-Mongolian grouping.
Independent satellite management by each side will provide Kazakhstan and Mongolia with access to up-to-date data for monitoring natural resources and agricultural development.
"I would like to emphasize that this is the first export of a Kazakhstani satellite in the country's history, fully developed by Kazakhstani engineers. The satellite will be adapted to the needs of Mongolia, which will strengthen the regional satellite infrastructure and emphasize the growing potential of Kazakhstan in the field of space technologies," said Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan Jaslan Madiyev.
Remote sensing technologies will allow both countries to monitor land conditions more effectively, manage water resources and analyze environmental changes. Kazakhstan and Mongolia combine their technical competencies to develop tools aimed at solving urgent economic problems and supporting sustainable development.
The project is being implemented on the basis of the National Space Center of Kazakhstan with the participation of Mongolian engineers. Kazakhstani specialists will undertake obligations to train Mongolian colleagues at all stages of the project, which will ensure the transfer of necessary knowledge and strengthen professional ties. Such cooperation will contribute to improving the skills of Mongolian engineers and deepen scientific and technical cooperation between the two countries.
This project symbolizes the desire of Kazakhstan and Mongolia to develop advanced technologies, opening up new prospects for partnership in the field of space and sustainable use of natural resources.
