Internationalist Soldiers Who Participated in the Afghan War Were Honored

A commemorative event was held in our district to mark the 37th anniversary of the withdrawal of Soviet troops from Afghanistan. The event honored the memory of internationalist soldiers who took part in the Afghan War.
During the ceremony held at the Tagzym Square, participants paid tribute to the heroes who lost their lives in the line of duty and laid flowers at the monument. Veterans, members of the public, young people, and representatives of various institutions attended the event.
Deputy Akim of the district, Dias Moldabayev, delivered a speech noting that the bravery of those who faithfully fulfilled their military duty on Afghan soil will forever remain in the nation’s memory. It was also emphasized that the resilience of internationalist veterans who returned home safely and continue to work in peaceful life serves as an example for the younger generation.
As part of the event, several veterans were awarded Letters of Appreciation from the district akim, and commemorative gifts were presented to the families of fallen soldiers.
The Chairman of the District Council of Veterans of Afghanistan and Local Wars, A. Yermanov, expressed gratitude to the district leadership for their respect and support.
