Islamabad, February 17, 2026 - As is known, on February 3-4 of this year, during the state visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, K. Tokayev, to Pakistan, a ceremonial opening of the H. A. Yassawi Center for Islamic Thought, Culture, and Civilization in Central Asia was held.
To enhance the activities of the H. A. Yassawi Academic and Research Center, an extended academic lecture titled “A Historical Survey of the Sufi Institutions of Central Asia” was held on February 17 of this year.
The event was attended by representatives of the Islamic Research Institute of the International Islamic University Islamabad, the H.A. Yassawi International Kazakh-Turkish University, as well as other members of Pakistan’s academic community.
The lecture was delivered by Prof. Dr. Alexandre Papas, Director of the Center for Ottoman Studies and Research Director at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS, Paris, France).
Following the event, the parties expressed their interest in further expanding cooperation in the fields of research, educational programs, and academic exchange.
