A city exhibition-competition entitled "Nuclear Energy - in a Peaceful Life" was held at the Schoolchildren's Palace No. 2 in Shymkent. More than 50 schools participated in the scientific and educational event, and hundreds of students presented their projects to the public.
During the exhibition, young researchers presented the peaceful uses of atomic energy in various formats. Students developed scientific projects, mock-ups and technical models, and defended their innovative solutions. Some of the participants explained the principles of operation of a nuclear power plant, while others focused on their research in the field of radiation safety and environmental control.
According to the organizers, the main goal of the competition is to increase students' interest in science, develop research skills, and widely explain the role of nuclear energy in peaceful purposes. Such events help develop critical thinking skills in teenagers and guide their future career choices.
During the event, it was noted that nuclear technologies are widely used in the fields of medicine, agriculture, industry, and ecology, in addition to energy. In particular, the possibilities of early detection of diseases, improvement of product quality, control of production materials, and environmental monitoring through the use of radioisotopes were presented.
The exhibition-competition became a meaningful platform that highlighted the interconnectedness of science and education and demonstrated the responsibility and quest of students.
The organizers noted that such initiatives will positively contribute to the younger generation's orientation towards science, the development of innovative thinking, and the formation of qualified specialists in the future.
