Coordination of efforts to enhance bilateral cooperation discussed at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Sultanate of Oman

On February 17, 2026, as part of coordinating efforts to further develop bilateral cooperation for the upcoming period, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Sultanate of Oman Aidarbek Tumatov held a meeting with Ahmad Al-Maskari, Director of the Central Asia Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Oman.
The parties noted the significant results of their joint work and the successful visits that took place in 2025. During the discussion of plans for the current year, an agreement was reached to maintain an active pace of engagement. In the political sphere, special attention was given to organizing visits at the highest and high levels, which will allow bilateral relations to advance to a new stage of development. In addition, the need to further expand the legal and contractual framework between the two countries was emphasized.
The Ambassador A.Tumatov also informed his counterpart about the upcoming Republican referendum on the draft of the new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, scheduled for March 15, 2026, which will become one of the key political events in the country this year. Representatives of the Omani side expressed interest in the forthcoming important event and underscored the significance of this stage of constitutional reform in Kazakhstan.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the Kazakh diplomat highlighted Oman’s significant role in the ongoing negotiation process regarding the Iranian nuclear program.
