The results of the UNT for January of this year have been announced at the National Testing Center of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan. About 184 thousand applicants took part in it in the country, and more than 26 thousand people took the test in Almaty. The majority of graduates passed the cut-off score, all results and certificates can be viewed in their personal account. Zhumabike Sultanova, head of the Almaty branch of the National Testing Center of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, reported on how the UNT-2026 was held at a press conference in the Regional Communications Service.

According to the National Testing Center, 75% of the UNT in Kazakhstan in January passed in Kazakh, 25% in Russian, and another 113 people chose English. 68% scored the minimum score, the average score was 64 points, and the highest score was 138 points. The most popular subjects were "Mathematics-Physics". It was chosen by 19.2%. In second place was "Biology-Chemistry" — 16.8%, and the top three included "Creative Exam" — 9.8%.

"The UNT in January will allow applicants to assess their readiness and psychologically prepare for the test. We have noticed that graduates have stable results and consciously choose subject combinations. All certificates are in a personal account, and the work of the Republican Appeals Commission has ended," said Zhumabike Sultanova.

Candidates were able to file an appeal within 30 minutes of the end of the test on the content of the test task, or during the test for technical reasons. In total, about 19 thousand applications were received, including two appeals on unique test tasks that were satisfied.

During the UNT, attention was paid to creating favorable conditions for applicants with special educational needs. 446 such applicants took the test in our country.

During the UNT-2026 in Kazakhstan, 320 violations were registered. 198 people were disqualified from the test for trying to bring smartphones, cheat sheets and other prohibited items, another 120 applicants were removed from the classroom for violating the rules, and their results were canceled. When checking the video recordings, the certificates of two people were also canceled. It was not revealed that unauthorized persons participated in the test.

More than 26 thousand applicants took the UNT in Almaty. 66% of them took the test in Kazakh, 34% in Russian, and 33 people chose English. 72% of participants scored the cut-off score in the city, the average result was 65 points, and the highest score was 136. 61 applicants with special educational needs took the test.

"We note that the rate of overcoming the cut-off score in Almaty is significantly higher, which indicates the high-quality preparation of graduates. In addition, monitoring compliance with the rules has also become strict. The entire testing period was monitored by video cameras, and now the analysis of records will continue until October 31," Zhumabike Sultanova noted.

During the UNT period, 40 violations were detected in Almaty. 22 people were disqualified from testing for attempting to bring in prohibited items, and another 17 applicants were expelled from the auditorium for violating the rules. As a result of the video review, one certificate was revoked. No facts of the participation of unauthorized persons were recorded.

After the completion of the UNT-2026, video analysis across the country will continue until October 31 of this year. If violations of the rules or the use of prohibited substances are detected, the test results will be canceled.
