The first stage of the Cup of the Republic of Kazakhstan among youth and adults in figure skating has come to an end at the Ice Palace sports complex in Shymkent.
A total of 10 teams from the cities of Astana, Almaty, Shymkent, Almaty, Karaganda, Kostanay, Kyzylorda, Pavlodar, West Kazakhstan regions and East Kazakhstan regions participated in the competition, and 60 athletes tested their skills.
10 athletes represented the city of Shymkent, performing in the short and free programs, demonstrating their technical level and artistic skills. The chief judge of the competition was Aigul Kuanysheva, and the general secretary was Zhansaya Adikhanova.
The four-day competition saw the winners and prize-winners in various sports categories. Athletes from Shymkent won prizes. In particular, Alika Khalimova won 1st place, while Kenan Berdibayev took 3rd place.
At the closing ceremony, the winners and prize-winners were awarded, and the participants were wished success and good luck in the upcoming republican and international competitions. This tournament provided a great opportunity for young athletes to gain experience and form the reserve of the national team.
The continuation and results of the stages of the Cup of the Republic of Kazakhstan will greatly contribute to improving the skills of athletes and determining the future champions of the country in figure skating.
