A large-scale meeting between Shymkent Police Department Chief Mukhtar Kozhayev and students was held at South Kazakhstan University. Over 500 students participated in the event.
The meeting had an open format: along with the presentation, thematic videos were shown, and students were able to ask questions.
The general focused on the most pressing threats facing young people today. He discussed stalking, which is officially classified as a criminal offense, the inadmissibility of forced marriage and so-called bride kidnapping, and common internet fraud schemes, particularly droppering.
The topic of drug crime was also addressed. Students were informed that involvement in drug trafficking is equivalent to drug trafficking and carries serious criminal penalties. Warnings were also issued about the dangers and consequences of using psychotropic substances, including vapes and laughing gas.
The police officer also reminded drivers of the rules for using electric scooters and the penalties for violating traffic regulations, emphasizing that road safety depends on the discipline of each road user.
"Public safety is not only the work of law enforcement agencies but also the personal responsibility of each individual. You are the future of the country. We believe in you and are always ready to support you," noted Mukhtar Kozhaev.
Law enforcement officials note that similar meetings aimed at preventing crime and fostering a legal culture among young people will continue in Shymkent.
