Today, in accordance with the organizational guidelines of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the regional akimat, the republican command-and-staff exercise “Koktem–2026” was conducted in the district as part of preparations for the spring flood period.

The exercise was organized to prevent possible emergencies during the spring season and to improve the readiness of command bodies and forces of the state civil protection system. Deputy Akim of the district Samat Smagulov and Deputy Head of the Emergency Situations Department of Kyzylorda Region Bekbolat Abdykadirov took part in the event and monitored the implementation of practical measures.

During the exercise, organized jointly with the district civil protection services and territorial units of the city of Baikonur in the Russia, the actions of command authorities in the event of a flood threat were practiced, and the emergency response mechanisms of civil protection services were tested.

In addition, work on strengthening protective dams in high-risk flood zones and ensuring road safety was inspected. Overall, special equipment and personnel underwent practical training, and a number of assignments were issued.

It should be noted that the exercise titled “Preparation and Conduct of Rescue and Other Emergency Operations in the Event of Adverse Flood Conditions in Spring 2026” is being held from February 25 to 27.
