Brasília, February 27, 2026 – The Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Brazil, Bolat Nussupov, held a meeting with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs for Trade Promotion, Science, Technology, Innovation and Culture, Ambassador Laudemar Gonçalves de Aguiar Neto.

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan briefed the Brazilian side on the current socio-economic development of Kazakhstan, the country’s favorable investment climate, as well as government support for foreign investment.

Particular attention was paid to the key aspects of the constitutional reform in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The Kazakh diplomat noted that the new constitutional model of Kazakhstan sets the task of transitioning the economy from a resource-based model to a technology-driven one, in which artificial intelligence plays a key role. In this regard, 2026 was declared by the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, as the Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence Development.

At the same time, with the aim of giving impetus to bilateral cooperation in trade, it was proposed to resume negotiations on the establishment of an interministerial working group on trade and investment at the ministerial level between the two countries.

The interlocutors agreed on the need to intensify trade and economic cooperation between the two states, as well as on the necessity of adopting government support measures to promote exports and imports.

The parties highly appreciated the work of the Brazil–Kazakhstan Business Council, established in 2021, in fostering and expanding direct economic cooperation between the business communities of the two countries, and agreed to continue supporting this mechanism of cooperation.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to maintain regular working contacts between the embassy and the ministry on trade and economic issues.
