A Meeting with Representatives of the Regional Tourism Sector Held in Ust-Kamenogorsk
On March 2, 2026, a meeting with representatives of the regional tourism industry was held in Ust-Kamenogorsk at D. Serikbayev East Kazakhstan Technical University. The event took place in a roundtable format with the participation of members of the Republican Headquarters and representatives of the public.
The meeting was opened and moderated by Denis Sergeyevich Rypakov, Chairman of the East Kazakhstan Regional Maslikhat. In his remarks, he emphasized the strategic importance of East Kazakhstan as one of the country’s key tourist regions, highlighting the ongoing work on infrastructure development, modernization of the road network, and expansion of air routes.
The keynote address was delivered by Aida Galymovna Balayeva, Deputy Prime Minister – Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Deputy Chair of the Commission on Constitutional Reform. In her speech, she addressed issues related to the country’s further development, the role of the public in making strategically important decisions, and the significance of citizens’ active participation in the upcoming referendum.

Lukbek Shabdanovich Tumashinov, Deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Member of the Committee on Economic Reforms and Regional Development;
Sergey Mikhailovich Ponomarev, Deputy of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Member of the Committee on Ecology and Environmental Management, Member of the Commission on Constitutional Reform;
Satybaldy Telagysovich Dauletalin, Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Member of the Commission on Constitutional Reform;
Polina Viktorovna Shimanskaya, Press Secretary of Channel One “Eurasia,” journalist, blogger, and eco-activist.
During the meeting, representatives of the tourism business community, heads of industry organizations, and regional entrepreneurs asked questions, shared their views, and put forward proposals and initiatives. Among the speakers were individual entrepreneurs, representatives of educational institutions, and health and wellness tourism facilities.
Participants noted that the development of tourism in East Kazakhstan Region is a key priority of the region’s socio-economic policy. The focus is on building modern service infrastructure, improving service quality, and establishing a sustainable hospitality industry.
Summing up the meeting, it was emphasized that in this important historical period, consolidated public participation is essential for ensuring the country’s continued progressive development.
The meeting was held in a constructive and open atmosphere, demonstrating a high level of engagement of the professional community in discussing current issues related to the development of the country and the region.
