As part of a working trip to Ulaanbaatar, Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Aerospace Industry of Kazakhstan Jaslan Madiyev met with Minister of Digital Development, Innovation and Communications of Mongolia Tsendiin Baatarhuu. At the meeting, the parties discussed key areas of cooperation: the development of an innovative ecosystem, support for startups, digital government (GovTech) and prospects in the aerospace sector. Madiyev stressed that strengthening the partnership contributes to the development of digitalization and the exchange of advanced technologies between the countries.
The Minister noted the successful participation of Mongolian startups in the Astana Hub acceleration programs and the growing presence of Kazakhstani startups in the Mongolian market, which strengthens bilateral ties. "The exchange of experience and support for startups develop entrepreneurial potential and contribute to the growth of technology in both countries," Madiyev said.
During the visit, the Minister visited e-Mongolia, a platform launched in 2020 to simplify access to public services. The platform covers 85% of Mongolia's population. Kazakhstan's eGov system, which provides online access to more than 90% of public services, has become a topic of discussion for possible cooperation and exchange of experience.
Madiyev also met with leaders of the Mongolian IT market, including ICT Group, the largest private information systems operator. The ICT Group covers more than 91% of the population and implements innovations in such areas as artificial intelligence, blockchain and the development of language models for the Mongolian language.
In addition, the Minister visited the National Information Technology Park of Mongolia (IT Park), which supports startups through the provision of jobs, professional certification and the development of digital skills, creating conditions for Mongolian startups to enter international markets.
Cooperation between Kazakhstan and Mongolia in the field of digitalization and technology opens up new prospects for sustainable development and strengthening leadership positions in the international arena.
Mutual cooperation will strengthen technical competencies in both countries and improve the application of new technologies in the daily lives of citizens.
"The Mongolian side has shown particular interest in individual solutions of the electronic government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, since structurally both countries have similar parameters, these solutions may also be in demand in Mongolia. Also, the government of Mongolia is now focusing on the digital economy and AI, which may be interesting for our country," Minister Jaslan Madiyev said.
