National Guard serviceman Ruslan Kurbanov wins silver at World Championship

Private First Class Ruslan Kurbanov, a serviceman of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, won a silver medal at the World Fencing Championship held in Astana.

The Kazakh épée fencer demonstrated a high level of skill and strong determination, confidently progressing through the tournament.

In the quarterfinals, Kurbanov secured a hard-fought victory over two-time Olympic champion Koki Kano of Japan with a score of 9:8.

In the semifinals, the representative of Kazakhstan continued his successful performance, defeating Hungarian athlete Dávid Nagy with a score of 15:13, advancing to the final stage of the competition.

In the final bout, the guardsman faced Roman Svichkar of Ukraine. The match was intense and closely contested; however, the opponent claimed victory with a narrow score of 15:12.

As a result of the competition, Private First Class Ruslan Kurbanov became the silver medalist of the World Championship.

This achievement represents a significant contribution to the development of national sports and confirms the high level of training of servicemen of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
