On the Implementation of the “Smart Cities” Methodology and the Enhancement of Digital Competencies of Civil Servants

Starting this year, the “Smart Cities” Methodology has become mandatory for application by local executive bodies. In this regard, the issue of systematic and large-scale information dissemination to civil servants of local executive bodies about best practices in project implementation and the deployment of solutions within the framework of this Methodology has become particularly relevant.

To provide methodological and informational support, a specialized information resource has been developed – https://smart-city.govarch.kz/ (hereinafter – the information resource), which contains methodological materials, recommendations, best practices in project implementation, as well as other useful information for civil servants and specialists involved in implementing “Smart City” initiatives.

At the same time, in order to develop the digital competencies of civil servants of local executive bodies and employees of territorial subdivisions of central government bodies, the Ministry implements a digital skills training program. Within the framework of this program, participants are planned to be granted access to the Smart Data Ukimet platform (https://sdu.gov.kz/) and the National Artificial Intelligence Platform (https://nitec-ai.kz/).
