The trafficking of counterfeit alcohol and cigarettes has been suppressed
27.04.2026 15:55:25 186During the joint raid activities of the Department of State Revenue and the Department of Economic Investigations in the Pavlodar region in the cities of Aksu and Pavlodar, facts of illegal trafficking in excisable products were revealed.
During the inspections, it was established that a number of entrepreneurs carried out the storage and sale of tobacco products and alcohol without mandatory means of identification and accounting and control stamps (UKM), or using counterfeit stamps. This directly indicates the illegal origin of the goods.
As a result of operational actions, more than 10,000 packs of cigarettes and 340 bottles of alcoholic beverages were withdrawn from illicit trafficking.
According to these facts, there are signs of a criminal offense provided for in article 214 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan ("Illegal entrepreneurship"). The sanction of this article provides for punishment in the form of a fine of up to 2,000 MCI, correctional or community service for up to 600 hours, as well as restrictions or imprisonment for up to two years with possible confiscation of property. The relevant procedural actions are currently underway.
The State Revenue Department recalls that the production, storage and sale of counterfeit products are strictly prohibited by law. Such illegal actions not only cause serious damage to the state budget and violate the principles of fair competition, but also pose a direct threat to the health of consumers. We urge entrepreneurs to conduct business in good faith and strictly comply with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
