Chaired by Akim of Atyrau Region Serik Shapkenov, issues related to ensuring safe working conditions and industrial safety were discussed.

The meeting was attended by deputy akims, department heads, and representatives of the State Labor Inspectorate.

During the meeting, special attention was paid to occupational injuries. Head of the region emphasized that ensuring worker safety should remain a key priority for every employer.

According to Igilik Aubakirov, head of the State Labor Inspectorate for Atyrau Region, 24 industrial accidents were recorded in the region in the first four months of 2026. This figure represents a 20% decrease compared to the same period last year.

Twenty-five workers were injured in the accidents. The main causes of the incidents remain inadequate organization of safe working conditions by employers and workers' failure to comply with safety requirements. Special commissions have been established and investigations conducted for each incident. Since the beginning of the year, 33 companies have been held administratively liable for violating occupational health and safety legislation. The total amount of fines imposed exceeded 15.9 million tenge.

Following the meeting, Serik Shapkenov ordered increased oversight of compliance with occupational health and safety regulations at companies in the region.
