Ambassador of Kazakhstan visited the Canton of Graubünden

25 June 2026, Chur - As part of the development of regional cooperation, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Swiss Confederation, Kairat Sarzhanov, paid a working visit to the Canton of Graubünden, the largest canton in Switzerland by area, which is home to the world-renowned town of Davos, host of the annual World Economic Forum.

During the meeting with the Head of the Cantonal Government, Martin Bühler, the parties discussed prospects for expanding interregional cooperation between Kazakhstan and Switzerland, including the implementation of joint initiatives in the economic, scientific-educational, and cultural fields. The sides noted their mutual interest in exchanging experience in territorial development, infrastructure, tourism, the rational use of natural resources, and the preservation of cultural heritage.

The Ambassador highlighted the high level of political dialogue and the steady development of trade and investment cooperation between Kazakhstan and Switzerland, and also briefed the counterpart on ongoing political and socio-economic reforms in Kazakhstan. Special attention was given to the constitutional reforms within the framework of building a “Just Kazakhstan,” aimed at strengthening democratic institutions, improving public administration, and expanding citizens’ participation in socio-political life.

Martin Bühler wished Kazakhstan continued prosperity, sustainable development, and success in implementing ongoing reforms, noting interest in further strengthening cooperation with Kazakhstan. The parties confirmed their readiness to continue constructive dialogue and support the implementation of new initiatives at both national and regional levels.
