Brasília, June 25, 2026 – A government delegation from the Brazilian State of Goiás, headed by the Secretary (Minister) for International Cooperation, Giordano Souza, visited the Embassy of Kazakhstan.

The parties discussed prospects for expanding trade and economic cooperation between the State of Goiás and Kazakhstan. In particular, special interest was expressed in strengthening cooperation in agriculture, livestock breeding, and agricultural science.

During the meeting, the sides also exchanged views on establishing academic and scientific-technical cooperation between Kazakhstan and the State of Goiás, as well as on opening an Honorary Consulate of Kazakhstan in Goiânia, the state capital.

The Ambassador of Kazakhstan, in turn, expressed gratitude to Mr. Souza and his team for their successful and friendly cooperation and presented them with Certificates of Appreciation from the Embassy in recognition of their contribution to strengthening and expanding Kazakh-Brazilian bilateral relations.

For reference: The State of Goiás surrounds Brazil’s federal capital and has a population of approximately 7 million people. The backbone of the state’s economy is agriculture, particularly soybean production. Goiás is also a major center for industrial livestock farming, possessing the second-largest cattle herd in Brazil, as well as for the production of meat and dairy products.
