The Military Council of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held at the Main Command Headquarters under the chairmanship of Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan and Commander-in-Chief of the National Guard, Lieutenant General Ansagan Baltabekov. The meeting reviewed the National Guard’s service and operational performance during the first half of 2026 and outlined key priorities for the upcoming period.

The session brought together regional command commanders, the Head of the National Guard Academy, heads of main departments, directorates, centers, independent divisions, and services. Senior officers from regional commands and military units also participated via videoconference.

During the meeting, reports on operational activities were presented, while participants discussed public order operations, combat training, and the staffing of newly established military units. Particular attention was given to existing challenges and practical measures for addressing them.

During the first six months of the year, National Guard servicemen carried out more than 1,300 public order missions. While performing patrol duties, they detained and delivered over 6,000 offenders to internal affairs authorities, including 151 individuals suspected of committing criminal offenses.

National Guard units also ensured security during five international political events and eleven visits by foreign heads of state and official delegations, once again demonstrating their high level of readiness to perform public security missions.

Significant results were achieved in other areas of activity as well. Servicemen prevented 43 attempts to smuggle prohibited items into correctional facilities, while convoy units transported more than 31,000 convicted and detained individuals during the reporting period.

The National Guard also continues its digital transformation. Several innovative systems are now successfully operating across the force, including the Usynys Alany platform for centralized collection and review of servicemen's proposals, an electronic food quality assessment system, the E-Nazar platform for monitoring personnel's psychological well-being, AI-powered surveillance cameras, and the Commander Rating Platform, which objectively evaluates the performance of commanders and senior leaders.

Summarizing the meeting, Lieutenant General Ansagan Baltabekov issued a number of specific directives aimed at further improving the National Guard's operational effectiveness. Priority areas include strengthening educational and preventive work, supporting the successful adaptation of newly enlisted personnel, enhancing servicemen's safety, reinforcing military discipline and service order, and continuing the modernization of the material and technical base of military units.

Following the Military Council, a formal resolution was adopted and distributed to regional commands and military units for implementation.
