In 2025, Aktau hosted the "Ecology and Tourism: Acting Together!" seminar, bringing together tour operators, guides, representatives of the Mangystau Region Tourism Department, the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Management, and the Eco Mangystau NGO.

The seminar focused on promoting sustainable tourism, preserving the cleanliness of natural attractions, and improving tourism infrastructure. Participants agreed on a number of practical measures, including installing more waste containers in natural and recreational areas, developing sanitation facilities along tourist routes, strengthening environmental monitoring, increasing the responsibility of local authorities, and integrating the principles of the "Taza Kazakhstan" initiative into the daily work of tourism businesses.

The participants emphasized that cleanliness, respect for nature, and well-developed infrastructure are essential components of Mangystau's sustainable tourism development and visitor experience.
