A 28-year-old resident of the Abai region was brought to criminal responsibility for harassing a woman after the termination of a relationship, as a result of which she suffered moral harm.

A man met a woman in one of the cafes. Despite the age difference—she was ten years older than him—they developed a close relationship. However, over time, misunderstandings arose in the couple, which escalated into conflicts. The woman decided to end the relationship, despite the man's disagreement.

After the breakup, the man did not stop trying to communicate and began obsessively pursuing the woman: he regularly appeared at her home and workplace, tried to find out her whereabouts through neighbors, and also sent numerous messages from different numbers, demanding to resume contact. His actions were systematic and caused significant moral harm to the woman, as a result of which she suffered a nervous breakdown.

The man was found guilty by the court decision. He was sentenced to 100 hours of community service.

After the verdict entered into force, the convicted person was registered with the probation service of the Ayagoz district of the Abai region. To carry out his punishment, he was employed in the KGP "Su-Ayaguz" as a handyman.

After our relationship ended, I couldn't accept it in time and let go of the situation. It seemed to me that if I insisted, everything could be returned and she would believe in my feelings. I called, wrote, and visited her, not thinking that I was causing her fear and discomfort. It was only over time and already during the proceedings that I realized that by my actions I was violating the law and causing serious moral harm to a person. Now I sincerely regret what happened. I realized that I need to respect the other person's choice and their personal boundaries. This case has become a serious life lesson for me. I intend to improve, conscientiously work out the prescribed punishment and prevent such actions in the future," the convict shared.
The Probation Service constantly monitors the behavior of convicts, as well as conducts individual preventive work with them. The main goal is not only to ensure the execution of punishment, but also to prevent repeated offenses. In this case, explanatory work is carried out with the convict, aimed at forming a respectful attitude towards the rights and personal boundaries of citizens," said Ermek Kaliev, head of the Ayaguz district probation service.
