The State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a working meeting with major alcohol producers and representatives of industry associations.

The meeting was chaired by S. Akhmetov, Deputy Chairman of the State Revenue Committee. Representatives of Bakhus JSC, Kokshetau Mineral Waters JSC, Petropavlovsk Vodka Plant LLP, and other industry enterprises took part in the discussion.

One of the key topics of the meeting was the development of mutual trade and the expansion of Kazakhstani product supplies to foreign markets. Representatives of the State Revenue Committee and the business community discussed practical issues related to alcohol exports, the readiness of domestic enterprises to increase supply volumes, as well as existing barriers and proposals for the further development of foreign trade.

Particular attention was paid to establishing effective cooperation between the Government and the business community to enable domestic producers to take advantage of additional opportunities to enter foreign markets.

A separate part of the meeting was devoted to the introduction of mandatory labelling and traceability of alcohol products. As part of preparations for the new requirements, a pilot project has already been implemented. During the pilot, regulatory and technical solutions were tested and approaches to ensuring product traceability were developed.

Mandatory labelling of alcohol products is planned to be introduced from 2027. Before its launch, the necessary technical improvements must be completed and the stable operation of processes for the application, accounting and movement of labelling codes must be ensured.

During the meeting, industry representatives highlighted practical issues arising in preparation for mandatory labelling and submitted proposals for improving the technical solutions.

At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties emphasized the importance of continuing constructive dialogue in two key areas: expanding opportunities for Kazakhstani exports and preparing the industry for the introduction of mandatory labelling of alcohol products.
