Kazakhstan and Hungary Discuss Cooperation Prospects in Climate Technologies and Industrial Manufacturing

Budapest, 4 August 2026 – A meeting was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Hungary with the management of the Hungarian group of companies ICCS, ZEQVION and ELWA to discuss prospects for implementing a number of investment projects in Kazakhstan.
Particular attention was given to initiatives in the field of climate technologies and the development of carbon markets. The Hungarian side presented an investment initiative aimed at implementing carbon sequestration projects and generating carbon credits in Kazakhstan in accordance with international standards. During the discussions, the company emphasized the importance of obtaining a Letter of Authorization (LoA) from the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, which is required for the further development of the projects under international carbon market mechanisms.
The parties also discussed a project to establish production in Kazakhstan of the Rapid Aszfalt special road repair material, which is distinguished by its high durability, wide operating temperature range and extended service life of road surfaces. The launch of production in Kazakhstan is planned by the end of this year.
The meeting also covered issues related to production localization, investment attraction and the further development of technological cooperation between Kazakhstan and Hungary.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in continuing the dialogue and further advancing the investment initiatives discussed.
