Budapest, 10 August 2026 – The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Hungary organized a flower-laying ceremony in Budapest at the monument to the great Kazakh poet, thinker and educator Abai Qunanbaiuly, dedicated to Abai Day.

The event took place at the bust of Abai, located in Városliget City Park on Astana Street. This place annually brings together Kazakhstanis to honour the poet’s memory and pay tribute to his rich spiritual legacy.

The ceremony was attended by representatives of the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Hungary, Kazakh students and members of the diaspora. The participants laid flowers at the monument to Abai and honoured the memory of the great poet.

Note: The monument to Abai Qunanbaiuly in Budapest was unveiled on 3 June 2014. It is located on Astana Street in Városliget City Park.
