In order to promote a healthy lifestyle, physical culture and sports, as well as national and traditional sports in the East Kazakhstan Region, Sports Week has been held since August 8, 2026. As part of Sports Week, various sporting events are being held to encourage the population to lead an active lifestyle and promote sporting traditions. The event was organized by the Akimat of East Kazakhstan Region and the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of East Kazakhstan Region.

On August 12, 2026, in the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk, competitions in the national sport of Kazakh Kuresi (Kazakh wrestling) were held as part of the XXIV Folk Sports Games of East Kazakhstan Region.

In the up to 100 kg weight category, the victory was secured by Dosym Samatov, Lead Specialist of the Department of On-Site Customs Inspections of the Customs Control Department after the Release of Goods of the Department of State Revenues of East Kazakhstan Region.

Demonstrating a high level of physical fitness, endurance, determination and sporting excellence, Dosym Samatuly took first place, becoming the winner of the regional Kazakh Kuresi competition.

Dosym Samatov's victory is a worthy example of combining professional responsibility, determination and commitment to a healthy lifestyle. Such achievements contribute to the promotion of sports, strengthening team spirit and increasing interest in national sports.
