Currency control in the Republic of Kazakhstan is exercised over residents, including financial organizations carrying out currency transactions, as well as non-residents carrying out currency transactions within the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan (hereinafter referred to as the “subjects of currency control”).

Currency control over financial organizations is exercised by the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Currency control over other persons is exercised by the state revenue authority, the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan and/or other currency control authorities within their respective competence.
