A cement plant with a capacity of 2 million tons of products per year will be built in Alga. With its launch, more than 500 jobs will be created.
The head of the region, Askhat Shakharov, met with investors from Singapore and Kazakhstan and discussed the details of the project development, including financing issues, construction deadlines and environmental standards.
"We are ready to support the implementation of the cement plant construction project. The company will make a significant contribution to the development of the construction industry in the region, providing the local market with high-quality cement and creating new jobs. In addition, the implementation of this project will attract additional investments and will contribute to the economic growth of our region," Askhat Shakharov said at a meeting with investors.
The governor of the region also stressed that this project is unique for the Aktobe region, as it will become the only large enterprise in the western region with a capacity of 2 million products per year. Today, a cement plant with a capacity of 800 thousand tons of cement per year operates only in Aktau. The launch of the new enterprise will not only satisfy the growing demand for cement, but also open up new opportunities for local construction companies.
At a meeting with the mayor, the co-founder of "Aktobecem" LLP Nurzhan Shakirov said that investors plan to invest 70 billion tenge of their own funds in the construction of the plant. The company will create more than 500 jobs. Preference for recruitment will be given to residents of the Alginsky districts and the Aktobe region as a whole.
"The launch of the Aqtobecem cement plant will cover the demand for cement products in the Aktobe region by 80%, as well as reduce logistics costs and balance seasonal fluctuations in product prices. In addition, the plant is a waste-free production that does not have wastewater, which indicates its high level of environmental responsibility," Nurzhan Shakirov outlined the attractiveness of the investment project.
It is worth noting that in August of this year, a solemn ceremony of laying a symbolic time capsule took place at one of the sites of the former chemical plant in Alga. Aktobecem plans to begin construction and installation work in the spring of 2025, and the launch of the cement plant is scheduled for 2026.
