The XI international scientific and practical conference "Zhubanov tagylymy" was held in Aktobe at the Kudaibergen Zhubanov Regional University, dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the first Kazakh linguist professor, Turkic scholar, teacher Kudaibergen Zhubanov.
Akim of the region Askhat Shakharov took part in the event and read out a congratulatory letter from President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
"Kudaibergen Zhubanov is a scientist who participated in laying the theoretical foundations of Kazakh linguistics. He studied linguistics deeply and wrote fundamental works that have received unanimous recognition from the scientific community. He comprehensively studied the current problems of Turkology. At the same time, he faithfully fulfilled various responsible duties and worked tirelessly for the benefit of his people.
The honorable work of a teacher-scientist will never be forgotten. It is everyone's duty to thoroughly study his rich heritage and revive the memory of him. In this regard, this meeting is of great educational importance. I believe that the life and creative path of an outstanding person who has occupied a special place in our history will always serve as an example for the younger generation," the congratulation reads.
In his speech, the head of the region noted the importance of the event dedicated to the memory of the educator.
"As the President noted, Kudaibergen Zhubanov's research in the field of Kazakh linguistics and literary studies is deep, his ideas and works occupy a large place in modern Kazakh society and the education system. This is evidenced by the high ratings given by researchers and many scientists. By holding such events, we give an opportunity to learn more deeply and comprehensively the bright personality of Kudaibergen Zhubanov," the governor of the region said.
The international scientific and practical conference was attended by Chairman of the Board of Directors, Chairman of the Committee for Quality Assurance in the field of science and higher education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan Adlet Toibayev, Rector of the University Laura Karabasova, famous philologists, intellectuals, relatives of K. Zhubanov.
Within the framework of the conference, flowers were laid at the monument-bust of Kudaibergen Zhubanov, installed on the territory of the university, and a photo exhibition was opened at the Youth Palace and the presentation of the book "Kudaibergen Zhubanov: personality and time. Photo archive".
