Akim of Almaty took part in the pre-summit on higher education in the Asia-Pacific region

A pre-summit dedicated to higher education in the Asia-Pacific region has begun its work in Almaty. The event takes place at the Al-Farabi Kazakh National University, which symbolizes the progress and achievements of higher education in Kazakhstan.
The pre-summit is attended by Akim of Almaty Yerbolat Dosayev, Minister of Science and Higher Education Sayasat Nurbek, Adviser to the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Malik Otarbayev, Rector of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University Zhanseit Tuimebayev.
350 representatives of universities from 16 countries such as China, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, India and others arrived to participate in the event. This event is dedicated to the central role of universities in shaping the labor market of the rapidly developing Asia-Pacific region. The main topic of the meeting was the development of a dynamic landscape and joint solutions: innovative approaches in the field of higher education in Central Asian countries.
At the end of the pre-summit, the winners of the QS World University Rankings 2025 will be awarded. Among the 1,500 universities in the world included in the ranking, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University took the 163rd place.
It should be noted that today 35 universities are concentrated in Almaty, more than 199,000 students study there, 124 thousand of them are from other cities.
