Akim of the region Nurlan Urankhaev and representatives of Samruk-Energo JSC discussed the parameters and timing of the construction of CHP-3. It is expected that the thermal power plant will close the shortage of thermal energy and significantly reduce the environmental burden.
️
CHP-3 will be equipped with four powerful energy boilers, three steam turbines, as well as three hot water boilers and four boilers, two of which will serve as main and two as peak boilers to increase power at critical moments. Its capacity will be 360 MW.
"This project will certainly be an important step towards ensuring the energy security of the region. It will create a full-fledged infrastructure, including power supply, water supply, heat supply, reconstruction of substations. Therefore, its implementation should be approached with all seriousness, avoiding mistakes. The project is large—scale, and it is necessary to take into account every detail," said Akim of the region Nurlan Urankhaev.
️
It should be noted that the project assumes that electricity generation will increase by 2,600 million kWh with an expected installed capacity utilization rate of about 82%. This will reliably provide energy to the growing needs of the region and reduce emissions of pollutants, which will have a positive impact on the environmental situation.
️
The project is being implemented within the framework of a strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Qatar, and is headed by the Kazakh company Samruk Energy together with the international partner Nebras Power. These initiatives are part of the state program to improve the energy supply of the Abai region.
