Deputies of the Maslikhat of Astana met with participants of the Republican Children's Kurultai of leaders of student self-government "Time to act" to discuss social initiatives, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
The event brought together about 20 presidents of school parliaments from the regions of the Republic of Kazakhstan and deputies of the capital's maslikhat. At the opening ceremony, the acting chairman of the Maslikhat of Astana, Askar Smagulov, made a welcoming speech.
"Today we have gathered to discuss the issues that concern young people and the school community. My colleagues will tell you about the activities of the maslikhat and share their experience with you. I am sure that each of you faces various problems and challenges in your school, finds unique ways to solve them, introduces new ideas, organizes events and projects that help make school life more interesting and meaningful. Your efforts are already bearing fruit, but it is important to understand that this is only the beginning of the path," he said.
Askar Smagulov also stressed that such meetings contribute to a better understanding of issues relevant to young people and help to learn about the decision-making system at the city level.
"Dear participants, I urge you to actively use this time: share your projects, experiences, do not be afraid to ask questions, discuss topics of concern to you. Let this meeting be an opportunity for you to find new friends and like-minded people, to see that you are not alone in your aspirations, that there are other guys who want and are ready to make the world a better place. And we, in turn, will do everything possible to promote the implementation of your ideas, to help you achieve success in your endeavors," concluded Askar Smagulov.
As the organizers of the event noted, the main purpose of the meeting is to strengthen ties between youth and representatives of the maslikhat, as well as create conditions for the active participation of children and adolescents in social initiatives.
