Issues of Inclusive Education discussed in Senate

A regular meeting of the Council on inclusion was held under the chairmanship of the speaker of the Senate Maulen Ashimbayev. The deputies, together with representatives of state bodies and the expert community, exchanged proposals and discussed ways to implement them to expand the opportunities for people with special needs to receive quality education. The meeting was attended by the minister of Education, Vice-Ministers of Science and higher education, health, labor and social protection of the population, representatives of international organizations.

Minister of education and science Gani Beisembayev spoke about the measures taken to develop inclusive education and expressed initiatives and proposals to expand educational opportunities. Today, a barrier-free environment is being created in Kazakhstan's schools for children with special educational needs. Thus, 88% of schools have created conditions for Inclusive Education. In 2024, more than 5 thousand teachers took retraining courses.

Speaker of the Senate Maulen Ashimbayev noted that the formation of an inclusive society of equal opportunity is one of the most important priorities on the agenda of the reforms of the president of the country. Systematic work has been carried out in this direction in recent years, and there is a positive dynamics in many areas, including the educational system.

The speaker of the Senate noted the need to strengthen work on the development of inclusive education. The developed proposals to expand the educational opportunities of persons with special needs will be sent to the relevant state bodies for joint work of interested parties.
