Individual assistants for children with musculoskeletal disorders will appear in Kazakh schools

At a meeting of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Minister of Education Gani Beisembayev focused on the measures taken to develop inclusive and special education.

According to him, 496 organizations operate in the country, and 1,071 classrooms are equipped for children in need of special support. Conditions have been created for inclusive education in 88% of schools and 80% of colleges.

The position of "Teaching Assistant" was introduced in schools, which allowed to increase the number of specialists from 1 to 2.5 thousand per year. Now the opening of this position is also being considered in preschool organizations. In total, more than 9 thousand special teachers work with children with special educational needs.

"Starting next year, teaching assistants will be trained in colleges. For children with musculoskeletal disorders, the position of "Individual Assistant" is being introduced at school. Also, new professions for working with children with special educational needs are being introduced into the professional standard "Teacher"," Gani Beisembayev said.

Along with this, work is underway to improve the skills of ordinary teachers. This year, 5 thousand teachers took courses.
