On December 11, 2024, Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bakytzhan Ilyas held a meeting with the population of Ulytau region, during which he spoke about the current situation in the fuel and energy complex of the region, and also got acquainted with the progress of gasification of the city of Zhezkazgan.
According to the regional gasification scheme of the Ulytau region, 9 settlements are planned to be gasified by 2030 (Zhezkazgan, Atasu, Zhairem, Karazhal, Kengir, Satpayev, Ulytau, Zhezdy, Karsakbai).
This will make it possible to convert a number of industrial and municipal facilities to natural gas, as well as use it for heating and cooking in the residential sector, which will significantly improve the fuel and energy balance and the environmental situation in certain districts and the region as a whole.
The gasification of the city of Zhezkazgan consists of 3 queues and 7 launch complexes, the project cost is 14.3 billion tenge. The length is 199.8 km. This year, 2 stages have been completed and put into operation. Currently, 1,493 houses are connected to gas, and 1,705 houses have received technical specifications.
Positive conclusions of the state expertise of the PSD on gasification of the city of Karazhal, the village of Zhairem and the village of Kengir have been developed and received.
"The implementation of the regional gasification scheme of the region will not only significantly improve the quality of life of the population, but also create favorable conditions for the socio-economic development of the entire region," Vice Minister B. Ilyas said at a meeting with the population of the Ulytau region.
Bakytzhan Ilyas also noted the active development of energy production using renewable energy technologies.
Today, there is one operating SES facility with a capacity of 10 MW in the Ulytau region, and it is also planned to implement a 100 MW WPP project.
During the meeting with the population of the region, citizens could ask questions of interest to the Vice Minister and receive detailed and complete answers to them.
