Today, the Command Center for Strategic Planning and Operational Management of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Kazakhstan held a briefing on the topic "On the passage of the winter period. Emergency rescue operations". The event was attended by Chief specialist of the Emergency Response Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Baurzhan Akhmetalin, senior officer of the Committee for Civil Defense and Military Units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Kuanysh Temirbekov, as well as chief specialist of the Fire Service Committee Aspandiyar Sapargaliyev.
According to Baurzhan Akhmetalin, since the beginning of the winter period, rescuers of the Ministry of Emergency Situations have already provided assistance to 517 people, including 72 children, and evacuated them from snow drifts. 113 pieces of equipment were also rescued. 348 people were accommodated in 19 heating points, who were provided with hot dishes and warm clothes.
A grouping of forces and means consisting of 37.4 thousand people and 13.6 thousand pieces of equipment was prepared for rapid response to winter emergencies. An operational headquarters has been established in the republic, as well as similar headquarters in 12 regions of the country. Active work is underway to inform the public about possible dangerous meteorological phenomena and precautionary measures.
In order to help the victims in winter, 1,548 heating points have been prepared. In addition, 40 highway medical and rescue points will also be used to heat citizens.
In turn, senior officer Kauanysh Temirbek informed journalists that since the beginning of November, the Ministry of Emergency Situations has initiated the republican action "Muz-24", within which raids were carried out with the participation of employees of various government departments. In total, more than 2 thousand people took part in the events, during which more than 50 thousand citizens, including 30 thousand fishermen, were instructed.
Aspandiyar Sapargaliyev, Chief Specialist of the Fire Service Committee, told about the passage of the fire safety month, which started in early December. Together with government agencies and non-governmental organizations, more than 20 thousand houses were passed, in which 74 thousand people were instructed. More than 5,000 carbon monoxide and smoke detectors have been installed in socially vulnerable segments of the population.
Special attention within the framework of the month is paid to the safe conduct of New Year's events. More than 1,000 venues for mass festive events have been checked, and 127 fire and tactical training sessions have been conducted. Evacuation trainings were also organized for children, students and teachers in educational institutions.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations reminds that in winter it is necessary to strictly observe safety rules, monitor storm warnings and stay at home in case of worsening weather. In case of an emergency, it is necessary to call the single number of the rescue service "112". It is also strongly recommended not to go out on the ice at night and in poor visibility, and never leave children unattended on the ice.
