A meeting with the population was held in Aktobe, during which Vice Minister of Trade and Integration Kairat Torebayev discussed with the heads of export-oriented enterprises, as well as with representatives of financial institutions and businesses, including members of the Atameken Branch Councils, key issues of entrepreneurship development and support for small and medium-sized businesses in the region.
Kairat Torebayev cited current statistics, according to which trade is important for the economy. It ranks first in the structure of employment (1.5 million people), second in the structure of GDP (18.2%) and leads in the number of business entities (782 thousand).
"The government is trying to stimulate the development of domestic trade. It is very important to form a modern trading infrastructure, modernize markets and develop e-commerce," said Kairat Torebayev.
During the meeting, Kairat Torebayev stressed that one of the priorities of the Ministry is the development of exports of Kazakh products to international markets. Today, exports of domestic products cover a number of countries, where the UAE, Qatar, Vietnam, China and Iran are promising destinations for Kazakhstani exporters.
The Vice Minister spoke about the system of measures to support exporters of non-primary goods and services from two specialized companies — KazTrade and KazakhExport. The Ministry of Trade and Integration has identified operators for the development and promotion of exports. Kazakh exporters can use insurance and financial support measures through the Export Credit Agency. Service support for exporters is focused on the QazTrade base, including reimbursement of part of the costs of transportation and marketing expenses, as well as participation in exhibitions and forums abroad. The export acceleration program helps business representatives to enter new sales markets.
— It is very important to note the efforts of the state to protect its foreign economic interests. This justifies the investment. The effect of each tenge of direct costs for non-financial export support is 500 tenge of export revenue," the Vice Minister cited interesting figures.
During the meeting, entrepreneurs raised the issue of strengthening control over imported dairy products imported to the Republic of Kazakhstan from neighboring countries. There was also a question about exports to China. Entrepreneurs were interested in speeding up the procedure for inclusion in the Chinese register of exporters. The Vice Minister noted that this process is very long and can take up to one year. They also asked about the supply of ARBZ rail and block products to Afghanistan, where the elements of interaction and compliance with agreements are only getting better. Kairat Torebayev promised to raise this issue with his Afghan partners.
At the end of the meeting, the Vice Minister held a reception for citizens.
