The grand opening of a new section of the Museum of Military Glory of the National Military-Patriotic Center, the Open-Air Museum, took place in Almaty. The production was performed by the main director of the theater, "Excellent Student of Culture" Olga Lutsiva.The plot centers on the story of an elderly Georgian peasant, Giorgi Makharashvili, who volunteers to go to the front in search of his son. He goes to war not as a soldier, but as a father. On his way, he meets many people whose fates reveal to him the common tragedy of war. The play deeply touches on such values as love, hope, humanity, perseverance and fatherly kindness.The play is based on the famous 1964 film Father of a Soldier, directed by Rezo Chkheidze. This work won the hearts of the audience in the 20th century and remains relevant to this day. It tells a sincere, pathos-free story about human feelings and fortitude in wartime.Both productions are an integral part of historical and cultural commemorative events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory.
