In Astana, public utilities are working in an enhanced mode around the clock, despite the bad weather and frost, the official website of the capital's akimat reports.
On the night of January 24, public utilities removed 1,078 trucks of snow from the capital, which is 15,156 cubic meters of snow.
Since the morning of January 24, 2,589 road workers and 1,518 units of special equipment have been involved in snow removal work.
Since the beginning of the winter season, 3 million 850,572 cubic meters of snow have been removed from the city to landfills by 303,318 heavy-duty truck trips.
First of all, according to the rules, areas with very heavy traffic are cleared in order to avoid traffic jams. Medium-intensity areas are also being cleared - squares, areas near railway stations, sidewalks, access roads to social facilities, etc.
Cleaning central streets, public transport routes, stops and sidewalks is also a priority.
There are several equipped snow disposal areas in the city. They are equipped with a system for reading vehicle license plates, CCTV cameras and lighting.
We ask residents and visitors of the capital to be careful on the roads, follow safety rules, and not go on long trips if there is a storm warning.
In case of an emergency, call 112.
