The head of state pays constant attention to creating a comfortable urban environment, developing modern infrastructure, and ensuring quality leisure opportunities for citizens.Today, the country's largest indoor water park opened in Kostanay. Speaking at the ceremonial event, regional akim Kumar Aksakalov noted that the opening of the modern complex is an important step in creating opportunities for residents to spend time enjoyably and relax with their families.The total area of the water park has almost doubled and now exceeds 9,000 square meters, while the water surface area has more than tripled, exceeding 1,000 square meters.Up to 500 people can relax here at the same time. The water park features five swimming pools, seven water slides, including a large slide, a children's area, a wave pool, a jacuzzi, and a food court."Sports and public infrastructure is actively developing in our region. Over the past three years, more than 30 sports facilities have been opened. In Kostanay, the construction of a Table Tennis Center and a multifunctional stadium in the Triathlon Park is nearing completion. A Sports Palace will be built in the 'Astana' microdistrict, and two fitness centers will be built in the 'Bereke' microdistrict and in the Triathlon Park area. Kostanay region – among the top three leaders in the republic by the number of railway stations put into operationThe reconstruction of the railway station in Kostanay has been completed, which, after more than 50 years of operation, has received a modern appearance and updated infrastructure. The grand opening of the renovated station complex took place today.«Kostanay region has fully fulfilled the instruction of the Head of State on the large-scale modernization of railway stations across the country. Since the beginning of the year, stations at Amankaragay, Kushmurun, Zhelezorudnaya, Arkalyk, and Tobol have resumed operation after major repairs in the region, and the final chord was the modernization of the main railway station in Kostanay», – noted Akim of Kostanay region Kumar Aksakalov.The Kostanay railway station is one of the key objects of the city's transport infrastructure. The average daily passenger flow has increased from 1.2 thousand to 2 thousand people and provides railway communication between Kostanay and the internal districts of our region, as well as with the northern, central, southern, and western directions of the republic.The history of railway communication in Kostanay spans more than a hundred years. The current three-story station building was built in 1974.Today, after more than five decades, the station has been completely renovated taking into account modern requirements for safety, comfort, and accessibility of passenger infrastructure.During the reconstruction, the building area was increased from 7.3 thousand m2 to almost 8.5 m2 – by more than 1,100 m2. As part of the project, engineering systems were fully modernized, and modern passenger escalators and elevators were installed.As noted by Vice Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan Zhanibek Taizhanov, Kostanay region has entered the top three leaders of the republic by the number of completed and commissioned railway stations.«Along with this, new railway lines are being built, network capacity is increasing, passenger rolling stock is being renewed, and modern digital technologies are being introduced. All these projects are aimed at making railway transport even safer, more comfortable, and accessible for citizens», – said Zh. Taizhanov.Special attention has been paid to the improvement of the territory adjacent to the station. At the expense of the regional budget, repairs and improvement of the station square were carried out. Last year, parks were opened in the railway station area, on Dulatov and Arystanbekov streets, at the intersection of Kasymkhanov and Tauelsizdik streets, as well as in the Konay microdistrict.The Triathlon Park, covering an area of 39 hectares, has become one of the most popular public spaces among city residents. Its territory features 16 sports and children's playgrounds, and 38 professional exercise machines have been installed.Currently, work is being completed on the arrangement of the administrative and amenity complex building, a fountain, and the entrance group.The administrative and amenity complex building includes 8 premises. The promenade area has been increased from 1 to 2.5 kilometers.With the arrival of new investors and the growth of business activity, the need for modern hotel infrastructure is increasing.Construction of two world-brand hotel complexes – "Marriott" and "Novotel" – has begun in Kostanay. Construction of a 150-room "Holiday Inn" hotel complex is also planned. The complex will include a conference hall and a dining area. 140 jobs will be created.Another facility that will allow residents and guests of the city to spend their free time meaningfully will be the "Invictus" fitness club.The construction of a modern fitness club is not just a new sports infrastructure facility. It is the creation of additional space for active recreation, sports, and meaningful leisure time. 40 jobs have been created.The club will be equipped with modern premium-class equipment. Up to 300 people will be able to exercise here simultaneously.The Regional Governor noted that another highlight of the Kostanay region is the large number of parks and public gardens.
