   Kazakhstan and Luxembourg Confirm Commitment to Deepening Political and Economic Cooperation 20.10.2025
 Luxembourg, October 20, 2025 – During a working visit to the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Kazakhstan’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Arman Issetov held talks with Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of Luxembourg Jean Olinger.The parties discussed the current state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, paying special attention to the development of political dialogue, as well as to the expansion of cooperation in economic and cultural spheres.The diplomats paid particular attention to implementation of the agreements reached during the meeting between President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Prime Minister of Luxembourg Luc Frieden on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York on September 23, 2025. The Kazakh diplomat noted that this meeting had given new momentum to bilateral relations and opened up opportunities for further development of cooperation.Deputy Minister Issetov emphasized that Kazakhstan regards Luxembourg as an important partner within the European Union, taking into account that this year Kazakhstan and the EU mark the 10th anniversary of the signing of the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement. The potential for cooperation between the two countries covers such areas as green technologies, digitalization, renewable energy, pharmaceuticals, and agriculture.For his part, Secretary-General Olinger highly appreciated Kazakhstan’s efforts in strengthening regional stability and emphasized that Luxembourg views our country as a reliable partner in Central Asia. He expressed his readiness to continue cooperation within the framework of the EU and international organizations, including the UN, as well as to support joint initiatives aimed at expanding economic and humanitarian ties.Following the talks, the parties confirmed their mutual interest in further developing political dialogue, enhancing trade and investment cooperation, and strengthening contacts between the foreign ministries of the two countries.For reference: The trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Luxembourg amounted to 13.6 million US dollars in January-August 2025, mainly due to imports from Luxembourg. In 2024, trade turnover totaled 19.54 million dollars (exports – 36.5 thousand, imports – 19.5 million). The gross inflow of direct investment from Luxembourg into Kazakhstan in 2024 amounted to 520.5 million dollars, compared to 424.5 million dollars in 2023. From 2005 to the second quarter of 2025, the total volume of investments amounted to 3.5 billion US dollars.   EIB Confirms its Interest in Expanding Cooperation with Kazakhstan 20.10.2025
 Luxembourg, October 20, 2025 – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Arman Issetov held a meeting with Director-General of the European Investment Bank (EIB) Andrew McDowell.During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for expanding cooperation between Kazakhstan and the European Investment Bank, including the implementation of joint infrastructure, energy, and digital projects, as well as the Kazakhstan – EU Strategic Partnership on Critical Raw Materials.In particular, the parties reviewed joint initiatives aimed at developing the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (the “Middle Corridor”), including the implementation of a Memorandum of Understanding worth 1.47 billion euro, concluded between the EIB and the governments of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Uzbekistan, as well as the Development Bank of Kazakhstan.They paid special attention to cooperation in the fields of clean energy and critical raw materials. Deputy Minister Issetov welcomed the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the Ministry of Energy of Kazakhstan and the EIB on the Kambarata-1 Hydropower Plant project, which took place on the margins of the Global Gateway Forum in Brussels on 9-10 October, 2025.Progress in the EIB’s negotiations with the Kazakh companies “Sarytogan Graphite” and “ZhezkazganRedMet” was also noted, within the framework of the joint Kazakhstan – EU Roadmap on Critical Raw Materials for 2025-2026.Moreover, the parties discussed opportunities for cooperation in the areas of digitalization and innovation.   The First Deputy Minister Participated in the Astana Think Tank Forum 2025 19.10.2025
 Astana, October 15, 2025 – First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yerzhan Ashikbayev participated in the Astana Think Tank Forum 2025 (ATTF), held on the theme: "From Polarization to Partnership: Restoring Trust in the International System."Speaking at the first session, "Multilateralism at a Crossroads: Reforming Global Governance in a Divided World," Y.Ashikbayev emphasized the need to build a "constructive consensus" and strengthen multilateralism in the face of increasing international polarization, noting the growing role of "middle powers" in maintaining stability, peace, and sustainable development.The importance of reforming the UN Security Council, strengthening regional cooperation formats, and promoting a responsible approach to regulating artificial intelligence was noted.   UN’s 80th Anniversary Marked in Astana 18.10.2025
 Astana, 17 October 2025 – On the occasion of the United Nations Day and the 80th anniversary of the Organization’s founding, a festive gala was held at the Quanyshbayev Kazakh Drama Theater, co-organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan amd the UN Country Team.The event brought together representatives of government agencies, the diplomatic corps, international organizations, civil society, and youth.In his welcoming remarks, Yerzhan Ashikbayev, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, emphasized Kazakhstan’s unwavering commitment to the UN Charter and to the Organization’s central role in maintaining international peace, security, and sustainable development.He recalled that the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, in his address at the opening of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly, underscored the indispensable role of the United Nations in addressing global challenges and strengthening international cooperation.First Deputy Minister Ashikbayev also highlighted the broad presence of the UN system in Kazakhstan, where 27 agencies and institutions operate, and noted the important role of the UN Regional Centre for Sustainable Development for Central Asia and Afghanistan, based in Almaty.In her remarks, Sarangoo Radnaaragchaa, UN Resident Coordinator in Kazakhstan, emphasized the importance of joint efforts for peace, sustainable development, and human dignity, commending the strong partnership between Kazakhstan and the United Nations in advancing the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.A performance by the Yerkegali Rakhmadiev Academic Symphony Orchestra led by Yernar Nurtazin became a highlight of the evening.   Development of tourism and preservation of cultural heritage 18.10.2025
 Today, the tourism industry is a fairly promising area of activity that directly affects the development of related sectors of the economy, such as trade, catering and the provision of hotel services.According to the results of the first half of this year, the volume of services provided by accommodation facilities amounted to 2.0 billion tenge, an increase of 33.2% compared to the same level last year.121.9 thousand citizens of Kazakhstan visited the region, which is 27% higher than the same period in 2024.The number of foreign tourists amounted to 6.0 thousand people, an increase of 3% compared to the same period in 2024.In total, there are 2 sanatoriums, 1 rehabilitation center, 94 hotels, 2 motels, 4 hostels, 22 recreation centers and recreation areas in the region.The main tourist sites of interest among tourists are the Sosnovy Bor sanatorium, the Naurzumsky Nature Reserve and the Thermal Park.Sanatorium-resort recreation is an important link in the development of tourism. Today there are 2 sanatoriums in the region.The main facilities of the medical and wellness area are located in the resort area of the Altynsarinsky district: the Sosnovy Bor sanatorium, the Dzhailau health and entertainment complex, the Munich recreation centers and the Village in the Forest. The sanatoriums are located near lakes with mineral water and sulfate-silt mud, pine forests with clean air and provide a wide range of therapeutic, diagnostic and preventive services, water and mud treatment, climate therapy, as well as a variety of entertainment and sports and wellness services.The Therma park Spa Complex is located in the city of Kostanay. This is a unique wellness complex with an area of more than 18,000 square meters, including 24 water-bath complexes, 5 pools, including thermal pools, two of which are open-air, 2 Jacuzzis, 4 outdoor pools. The total capacity of the thermocouple is 1,600 people.It is worth noting that there are other interesting places in the region related to health tourism. The most famous of them are the "Torgai triquetre" and the "Ushtogai square".An equally interesting object for guests and residents of the region are the Kumkeshu dunes located at the entrance to the district.Despite the low popularity of the tourism industry in our region, the tourism sector is gradually developing, new flights are being opened, investment projects are being launched, etc. One of the significant investment projects is the construction of a multifunctional tourist complex in Amangeldy district. There are buildings built in the form of replicas of architectural monuments on its territory: the Taj Mahal in India, the Chichen Itza building in Mexico, the Eiffel Tower, as well as a Wall of National Memory built on its territory, where 200 names of prominent Kazakhstani figures are included. A hotel, a restaurant, sports and playgrounds have been built for the convenience of tourists.To organize recreation away from the daily hustle and bustle, a recreation center "Shanyrak" is being built in the Denisovsky district. The recreation center is located on a section of the Tobol River within the Verkhne-Tobolsk reservoir.    Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan and Cyprus Hold Telephone Conversation 17.10.2025

  Building the future: large-scale housing projects are being implemented in the region 16.10.2025
 The Head of State stressed that "affordable housing is not a dream, but our duty to citizens." Based on this, over the past 2 years, we have commissioned about 1.0 million square meters of housing.Since the beginning of the year, 391.0 thousand square meters of housing have been commissioned, with an increase of 3.2%.This year we plan to build and commission 500.0 thousand square meters (6,500 sq. m.).The Kostanai Zhastary program is in place to provide housing for young people.   Austrian Company Considers Developing a Rehabilitation Center in Almaty 16.10.2025
 Astana, October 15, 2025 – Chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Gabidulla Ospankulov and Deputy Chairman of the Management Board of JSC “NC KAZAKH INVEST” Madiyar Sultanbek held a meeting with the delegation of the Austrian medical group SANLAS Holding GmbH, led by its Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Professor Dr. Günther Nebel.The parties discussed prospects for cooperation within the framework of a project to establish the first multidisciplinary medical complex in Central Asia based on the Austrian Lassnitzhöhe and Hollenburg models. The project envisions the construction of a modern rehabilitation center in Almaty with 200–300 beds and an annual capacity of up to 15,000 patients.The future center will combine physical and psychological rehabilitation and introduce Austrian standards of medical care quality.   A working visit by the regional akim Kumar Aksakalov to the Mendykarinsky district 16.10.2025
 During the visit, the regional head reviewed the implementation of the "Taza Kazakhstan" program, the progress of housing construction, and the development of the agro-industrial complex.One of the areas of the "Taza Kazakhstan" program, initiated by the Head of State, is the creation of landscaped public spaces. Construction of a new alley along Mikhaylenko Street has been completed in the village of Borovskoye.The project cost 44 million tenge, 36 million tenge of which came from the regional budget and 8 million tenge from the national budget. The new alley has become not only an adornment to the district center but also a comfortable place for residents to relax."The "Taza Kazakhstan" program cares for every corner of our native land. We create comfortable, clean, and safe spaces for people. It is important that such projects appear not only in cities but also in rural areas," noted Kumar Aksakalov.During his working visit, the regional governor inspected the construction of a three-story apartment building in the village of Borovskoye. The project is being financed by the contractor, SK KBS LLC, and the total construction cost is 826 million tenge.After completion, the Akimat will purchase 45 apartments to replenish the municipal housing stock. The building will consist of 32 one-bedroom, 10 two-bedroom, and 6 three-bedroom apartments, with a total area of over 2,600 square meters.Kumar Aksakalov also visited a two-story, 12-apartment building in the village of Kamenskuralskoye, restored by the Kamenskouralskoye partnership. The project cost 90 million tenge.The housing is intended for the farm's employees. It offers all the necessary amenities for a comfortable life: landscaped grounds, modern utilities, and cozy apartments with various layouts."It is important that people working in rural areas have the opportunity to live in good conditions." Such examples demonstrate the social responsibility of business and the interest of employers in preserving the human resources potential of rural areas, the regional governor emphasized.One of the key highlights of the working visit was the opening of a dairy farm for 1,200 head of cattle in the village of Kamenskuralskoye. The project was implemented by Kamenskuralsk LLC with government support.The total cost of the project is 4.3 billion tenge, with a production capacity of 6,700 tons of milk per year, and 45 permanent jobs created.The farm was built using advanced technologies. Modern equipment reduces losses, improves milk quality, and efficiently uses resources such as feed, water, and labor.It's worth noting that the project was made possible thanks to government support. Low-interest loans were provided, utilities and infrastructure were installed, and the state also covered part of the equipment costs.Dairy production is a strategic area. "The state supports investors who are creating processing facilities and new jobs in rural areas," noted Kumar Aksakalov. "Currently, the region has four dairy farms with a capacity of 33,000 tons of milk per year, three more are under construction, and over 20 billion tenge has been allocated for the construction of five new farms."In the village of Borovskoye, the regional akim visited a cold-pressed oilseed oil production facility, which was commissioned in March of this year.Investments totaled 286 million tenge, with a production capacity of 3,000 tons of oil, 1,800 tons of cake, and 1,200 tons of granulated husk per year.    Foreign Ministers of Kazakhstan and Germany Hold Telephone Conversation 16.10.2025

  Kazakhstan`s Foreign Minister Participates in the Aqaba Process Meeting and Held Talks with Leaders of Jordan and Italy 16.10.2025
 Rome, October 15, 2025 – During his visit to Italy to attend the meeting of heads of state and government within the framework of the Aqaba Process on West Africa, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Yermek Kosherbayev was received by His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein of Jordan.During the meeting, Minister Kosherbayev conveyed a letter and warm greetings from the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to His Majesty the King and expressed Kazakhstan’s full support for the Aqaba Process as an important platform for discussing issues related to combating terrorism, extremism, and transnational crime.
