Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov arrived in Kostanay region on a working visit. The transition from fuel oil to coal has significantly reduced costs and ensured a stable heating season without emergency shutdowns. The work is being carried out in stages in order to further reduce the wear and tear of heating networks.⸻Development of social infrastructureAs part of the national project "Comfortable School", a new general education institution for 300 students was commissioned in Arkalyk. The educational institution is equipped with a modern material and technical base: a digital library, a STEM laboratory, robotics rooms and creative studios.Plans to strengthen higher education are being implemented. Arkalyk Pedagogical University named after Ybyrai Altynsarin is expanding its infrastructure. One of the buildings is being reconstructed to create a modern educational space. The project will increase the number of students from 2.6 to 5.2 thousand, as well as expand the range of educational and scientific programs.In healthcare, a major overhaul of the maternity hospital building of the Arkalyk Regional Hospital is underway. The roof, water supply, heating, and sewerage systems are being updated, and interior finishing is being carried out. The overall readiness of the facility is 70%. From May 12 to June 1, 2025, a large-scale sporting event is taking place in the region — the regional Spartakiad among civil servants. This event is held in accordance with the Unified Regional Calendar of Sports and Mass Events.The main goal of the Spartakiad is to strengthen the corporate spirit and popularize a healthy lifestyle among civil servants. New York, March 4, 2025 - The UN General Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution to establish a Regional Center for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for Central Asia and Afghanistan. The document was presented by Kazakhstan on behalf of the Central Asian states. 152 member states of the United Nations supported the resolution as co-authors.
