Kazakhstan is strengthening cooperation with leading US companies in the fields of technology, energy and healthcare 18.05.2025
Washington, March 6-7, 2025 - a series of meetings were held with the management of large American companies in the fields of technological solutions, industry, health care and energy with the participation of Gabidolla Ospankulov, the chairman of the Investment Committee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Marat Birimzhan, the foreign representative of the national company "Kazakh Invest" in the USA. The investment potential of Kazakhstan, technological exchange, and localization of production were discussed at these meetings.The first important meetings were held with representatives of the "Honeywell Technology Experience Center". During the meeting, innovative solutions in industrial automation, production of alternative aviation fuel, digitization of production and implementation of advanced technologies in Kazakhstan were discussed.During the negotiations with the world's leading agro-industrial corporation "Archer Daniels Midland", opportunities for processing of agricultural products, introduction of advanced technologies in the agricultural sector and expansion of export supplies were discussed. At this meeting, the Kazakh side presented potential projects on grain processing and vegetable oil production and noted the suitability of localizing production in these areas in Kazakhstan. In addition, the main topic of the meeting with the Pfizer company was the development of the pharmaceutical industry in Kazakhstan, the introduction of modern biotechnology and the localization of drug production. Also, negotiations were held with Leidos, a large American company in the field of technology, security and digital solutions. This meeting discussed the development of technological solutions for intelligent transport systems, the protection of important infrastructure and industry, and the possibility of introducing advanced cyber security systems in Kazakhstan. This meeting was devoted to the discussion of joint initiatives on the implementation of innovative systems of water resources management, water purification and quality control. Caring - gratitude to the winners: veterans received support for the Victory anniversary 12.05.2025
In honor of the 80th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War, a set of events is being held in Kostanay region to support veterans and related categories.The region is home to 10 participants and invalids of the Great Patriotic War and 1949 people who are equivalent to veterans. All of them receive social and medical support throughout the jubilee year.By Victory Day, one-time social assistance was provided to WWII participants - 5 million tenge each; prisoners of Nazi concentration camps - 100 thousand tenge each; residents of besieged Leningrad - 60 thousand tenge each; home front workers - 50 thousand tenge each; widows and wives of deceased veterans - 50 thousand tenge each.The total amount of budget funds allocated for these payments amounted to 164.7 million tenge.Since the beginning of May, all veterans and persons equated to them have been awarded commemorative medals for the 80th anniversary of the Victory - a total of 1959 people.Monthly social assistance is provided to veterans: 39,320 tenge to war veterans, 11,796 tenge to equivalent categories.Special attention is paid to spa treatment. This year, 108.7 million tenge has been allocated for the rehabilitation of 356 people. In addition, 54.4 million tenge was allocated to compensate expenses for those who chose the sanatorium on their own.On May 7, a delegation from Kostanay region took part in a military parade in Astana. Moscow, May 5-7, 2025 – The 10th Meeting of the High Level Working Group on the Caspian Sea Issues (HLWG) was held in Moscow.The delegations of the Republic of Azerbaijan (led by Samir Sharifov), the Islamic Republic of Iran (led by Alireza Jahangiri), the Republic of Kazakhstan (led by Zulfiya Amanzholova), the Russian Federation (led by Mikhail Petrakov) and Turkmenistan (led by Myrat Atajanov) took part in the meeting. Energy investments: implementation of six renewable energy projects until 2026 11.05.2025
The development of the energy supply system in Kostanay region is gaining strategic importance. Along with traditional sources, more and more attention is being paid to renewable energy sources (RES) - wind, solar and gas.Major projects have been successfully implemented in the region in recent years. So, in 2022, a 50 MW wind farm built by the Zhel Electric company was launched in Kostanay region. And in 2023, another 48 MW wind farm from KazWindEnergy was commissioned in Arkalyk.Construction of six more renewable energy facilities is planned for the next two years. Construction of a 22.6 MW solar power plant will begin in the Beimbet Mailin area. The investor of the project, Altyn Solar Energy LLP, has already completed the design and received an expert opinion. Construction work will begin in May, with completion in the first quarter of 2026.In the same place, in the area of B.Mailin, the GPP Varvarinskoye company will build a 40 MW gas-piston power plant. The facility is expected to be commissioned in the second quarter of 2026.In Arkalyk, Aspan Energo has launched a new project for the construction of a 50 MW wind farm. Commissioning is scheduled for June 1, 2026.Two major projects are also being implemented in Kostanay region. Mars Wind and Jupiter Wind companies have begun construction of two wind farms with a total capacity of 100 MW. The facilities are scheduled to be commissioned at the end of 2026.In addition, a large-scale wind farm is planned to be built here in the district - 165 wind turbines with a total capacity of 1 GW. TuranWindEnergy became the winner of the auction for the selection of the project contractor.The implementation of all these projects will increase the production of electricity from renewable sources by 10 times, from the current 0.12 GW to 1.27 GW. Astana, May 6, 2025 – Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Roman Vassilenko met with Ambassador of the French Republic to the Republic of Kazakhstan Sylvain Guiaugué.The parties discussed on the state and prospects of Kazakh-French cooperation in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian areas.They reviewed the outcomes of bilateral interaction so far, highlighting the importance of implementing fully and in a timely manner the agreements reached during a state visit of President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to France in November 2024.On his part, Deputy Minister Vassilenko noted that “over the 33 years of diplomatic relations, Kazakhstan and France have succeeded in elevating bilateral cooperation to the level of an enhanced strategic partnership, which reflects mutual interest in developing the existing potential for cooperation between Astana and Paris.”The most promising areas of cooperation identified included energy, particularly nuclear and renewables, rare earth metals, transport and logistics, healthcare, tourism and education.As noted by Ambassador Guiaugué, last year the Embassy of France issued over 17,000 visas to citizens of Kazakhstan, which is 40% more than in 2023. Preparations for the spring field campaign and implementation of investment projects in the agricultural sector are underway at an active pace in the Kostanay region 09.05.2025
At an extended meeting of the Akimat of Kostanay region, chaired by the regional akim Kumar Aksakalov, the key tasks of the agro-industrial complex were considered in light of the instructions of the Head of State.The President of the country outlined specific goals for the agricultural sector: to double the volume of agricultural production, triple labor productivity and enter the top ten world leaders in deep grain processing. This year, it is planned to increase this figure.Investments in the agricultural economyIn order to develop the agricultural economy in the region, 36 investment projects worth 52.5 billion tenge are being implemented. Thanks to this, more than 600 new jobs are being created.A special place among them is occupied by the construction of six dairy farms - part of a large-scale program that provides for the launch of 30 dairy farms by 2028.
