At the next meeting of the operational headquarters for ensuring economic growth, held on June 17 under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Economy Serik Zhumangarin, the current development of the tourism, sports and water resources sectors was reviewed.According to Vice Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerzhan Yerkinbayev, in 2025 the industry faces the task of attracting investments in fixed assets in the amount of 1,3 trillion tenge, which is 37% more than last year.According to the results of the first four months, the plan has already been exceeded: 215,6 billion tenge has been invested, which is 191% of the planned amount for this period.– The volume of investments in the industry is formed due to such areas as accommodation and food, art, entertainment and recreation, work of libraries, museums, archives, land, air and water transport, rental services and tour operators and other types of activities, – Yerzhan Yerkinbayev noted. – The main inflow of investments is expected in the second half of the year.For 2025, the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, together with JSC NC «Kazakh Tourism», have formed a pool of 320 projects with a total value of more than 991.3 billion tenge. Of these, 11 large projects worth 244,5 billion tenge are actively supported.According to the Ministry of Water Resources and Irrigation, 358 projects in the field of water infrastructure are being implemented this year.193 billion tenge is planned for their financing in 2025, which is 75% more than last year. Inclusive Higher Education in Focus: Seminar Brings Together National and International Experts in AstanaThe Technical Assistance Mission (TAM) Seminar titled «Development of Inclusive Higher Education» took place on June 12-13, 2025, at Astana IT University. The event brought together over 50 participants, including vice-rectors, deans, faculty members, representatives of inclusion centers and PhD students from around 30 universities across Kazakhstan. The seminar concluded with a forward-looking session summarizing key takeaways and drafting initial action points for institutions and policymakers. Participants also provided feedback and contributed to the development of a national roadmap to strengthen inclusion and equity in higher education. Astana, June 16, 2025 – As part of the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Kazakhstan, a bilateral meeting took place between Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan Alibek Kuantyrov and Vice Chairman of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) of China Zhou Haibin.The parties discussed prospects for deepening trade, economic, and industrial cooperation. Karaganda rowers brought seven medals from Thailand: three gold, three silver and one bronze. About 300 athletes from 15 countries competed in the Asian Rowing and Canoeing Championships. The continental championship was held among boys under 18 and juniors under 23.The national team of Kazakhstan took the second overall place. In his recent Address, the Head of State particularly emphasized the priority of solving infrastructure issues, including the development of the road network, as the most important factor in economic growth and improving the quality of life of citizens.This year, funding for the road sector in the Kostanay region has been significantly increased - compared to last year, the budget has grown by 31% and amounted to 106 billion tenge. Of these, 47.1 billion tenge or 44.4% are directed to the repair of republican roads.Large-scale repair workIn 2025, work is underway on a number of key sections:•the road from the village of Sarykol to the border of the North Kazakhstan region;•the Arkalyk section - the border of the Ulytau region;•the Uzunkol - Troebratnoye road;•the road from the village of Karabalyk to the border of the Russian Federation;•section from Oktyabrskoye village, Karasu district to the border of Akmola region;•repair of the road from Bestobe village to the border of Aktobe region has begun.In addition, on June 14, on the instructions of the President, construction of a new “Center-West” highway was launched, which will make the southern regions of Kostanay region a key transport hub of the country.New impetus for RudnySpecial attention is paid to the city of Rudny. Here, in order to reduce the load on the central streets from transit freight transport, it is planned to build a bypass road. The project includes:•construction of a new section 16.9 km long,– of which 4.3 km is new construction,– 11.2 km is reconstruction of the existing road;•the route will run through the villages of Belozerka and Balykty with an exit to the interchange near the village of Yubileynoye;•the estimated cost of the project is about 25 billion tenge;•work is scheduled to start this year and be completed in 2028.Repair of the Kostanay-Rudny highwaySpecial attention is paid to one of the busiest sections of the region — the 31.5 km long Kostanay-Rudny highway.
