Completion of the school year and preparation for the summer health campaign: priority is the support and safety of children 19.05.2025
The 2024-2025 academic year is coming to an end in Kostanay Region. This year, 4,752 students are graduating from schools, which is more than last year (4,213). Along with the increase in the number of graduates, the share of those who intend to continue their education in higher educational institutions of the country is also growing.According to the Education Department, 80% of graduates plan to take the Unified National Test. This is 15% more than last year. Such dynamics indicate a consistently high interest among young people in obtaining higher education in domestic universities.Akim of the region Kumar Aksakalov emphasized:“Behind every result is the work of a child and a teacher. We are obliged not only to evaluate it, but also to support it.”In this regard, the region is taking measures to create a favorable educational environment in the pre-examination period. Particular attention is paid to issues of motivating schoolchildren and their psychological support."It is very important that the child approaches the exam not with anxiety, but with confidence that there are adults nearby who will support him," the head of the region noted.A separate emphasis is also placed on ensuring safety during the UNT."The issue of safety and order at the UNT is our direct responsibility. And there can be no trifles here," Kumar Aksakalov added. The akims of cities and districts have been instructed to organize the delivery of graduates to the exam points. Together with the education, health care and police departments, medical workers, psychologists and law enforcement officers will be on duty at the testing sites.Summer recreation and employment of children is an important part of educational workThe next priority area is the organization of summer recreation and employment of schoolchildren. In his instructions, the President of the country has repeatedly emphasized the need to improve the quality of summer leisure, its accessibility and safety."Summer recreation is not just a vacation. This is part of educational work, an opportunity for development and recuperation,” Kumar Aksakalov emphasized. In 2025, more than 105 thousand children will be covered by health, recreation and employment programs in the Kostanay region, which is 98.6% of the total number. At the same time, special attention is paid to children from socially vulnerable categories, for whom free high-quality recreation is organized. In total, 12 country and 773 school camps will operate in the region in the summer. At the request of the regional akim, work is underway to attract investors to restore previously unused facilities. In particular, the preparation of documents for putting up for auction the Solnechny camp in the Mendykarinsky district is nearing completion. The Allur plant is a potential investor.“Once, camps were a place where children dreamed of spending the summer. We want to return this meaning to them,” the head of the region said.Safety issues remain a priority throughout the summer health campaign. This concerns both sanitary and epidemiological requirements and fire safety standards, protection of territories and personnel qualifications."The system should be built in such a way that any parent is confident that their child is safe," noted Kumar Aksakalov. As part of the Year of Working Professions, career guidance work will be strengthened in the camps. The summer leisure plan includes excursions to enterprises in the region, including the Industrial Zone of the regional center."When a child sees with his own eyes how modern production works, he develops an interest and a dream. This is more important than any lectures," the regional akim believes. It was instructed to establish interdepartmental cooperation with emergency situations, sanitary and epidemiological services, police and medical institutions. It is also planned to conduct information and educational work among parents and children to prevent accidents.A separate order was given to the akims of districts and cities - to complete the improvement of territories and equip playgrounds and sports grounds in places where cultural and leisure events will take place."Our common task is to organize a summer in which children will feel safe and involved in useful activities," Kumar Aksakalov emphasized.Source : https://www.gov.kz/memleket/entities/kostanay/press/news/details/994466?lang=kk
