Last weekend, more than 20 food fairs were organized in the regions, where over 1,600 tons of products were sold. In Shymkent, for example, out of 150 tons of food, locals purchased 126 tons. Within the framework of the fair, C1 category eggs were sold at a price of 52-57 tenge per piece, a total of 105,000 eggs were sold. 26 tons of onions were also sold at 80 tenge per kilogram, sunflower oil - at 620 tenge per liter, beef - from 2,400 to 2,600 tenge per kilogram.
In Almaty, 865 tons of products were presented at the fair, of which 806 tons were sold. About 300 domestic manufacturers and entrepreneurs participated in the fair. In Almaty, a kilogram of sugar cost 370 tenge, eggs of category C1 - 52 tenge per piece, a liter of sunflower oil - 650 tenge.
Astana traditionally hosted the Sogym Fest fair, where the volume of meat sales increased: last time 100 tons were sold, and this time 150 tons. Meat prices remained low: horse meat was sold at 2,300—2,500 tenge, beef at 2,100-2,300 tenge per kilogram. 11 tons of vegetables, 800 kilograms of flour (186 tenge per kilogram), 200 kilograms of sugar (350 tenge per kilogram) were also sold.
In addition to social food products, fruits, honey, cottage cheese, sour cream and other products in high demand among the population were also presented at the fairs.
The peculiarity of last week's fairs is that products from stabilization funds were sold in several regions. In the Abai region, for example, 5 tons of potatoes, carrots, onions and cabbage were sold from the stabilization fund at a price of 115 tenge per kilogram. In Aktau, potatoes (2.8 tons) were sold for 116 tenge, onions (1.9 tons) for 170 tenge, cabbage for 160 tenge, carrots for 110 tenge, sugar for 350 tenge. In Kostanay, 11 tons of products from the stabilization fund were exhibited at the fair, of which 8 tons were sold. Among the products: 1 ton of chicken meat (1000 tg), 2 tons of buckwheat groats (135 tg), 1 ton of horns (250 tg), 72,000 eggs of category C1 (450-480 tg), 1 ton of carrots (140 tg), 3 tons of potatoes (140 tg).
Products from the stabilization funds were also sold at fairs in Almaty, East Kazakhstan Region, Kyzylorda, Pavlodar, Ural, Zhetysu and Akmola regions.
According to the official statistics of the BNS, from December 3 to December 10, 2024, the price index for socially important food products amounted to 100.1% (+0.1%). During the week, prices for beef (0.1%), buckwheat (0.7%), rice (0.8%), sugar (1.0%) and carrots (0.1%) decreased. Prices for flour and kefir remain stable, while prices for potatoes and onions increased slightly (1.4% and 1.2%, respectively).
