The Municipal State Institution "East Kazakhstan Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Informatization and Education Development "Örken" of the Education Department of East Kazakhstan Region held a sectional meeting on August 28, 2026, at the premises of the Municipal State Institution "Secondary School No. 40" of the Education Department of Ust-Kamenogorsk city as part of the traditional regional August conference on the theme "HUMAN CAPITAL, EDUCATION, PROGRESS - KEY VALUES OF THE PEOPLE'S CONSTITUTION".
The section "Priority Directions for the Development of the Education System in the 2026–2027 Academic Year: Improving the Quality of Education and Developing Reading Literacy" was attended by methodologists from district and city education departments, deputy directors for academic affairs, teachers of Kazakh and Russian languages, and librarians from educational organizations.
- A.Zh. Bilyalova, Head of the Methodological Department of Social and Humanitarian Disciplines, presented the main changes in the content of education and the training system for the new academic year;
- K.M. Umirbayeva, methodologist for additional education of the Education Department of Samar district, delivered a report on the topic: "Developing Reading Culture and Forming an Intelligent Nation: New Priorities for School Library Activities";
- D.B. Satenbayeva and D.B. Zhienbayeva, teachers of Kazakh language and literature at Secondary School No. 46 and Secondary School No. 47 of the Education Department of Ust-Kamenogorsk city, shared their experience in effectively using artificial intelligence capabilities in the educational process, paying special attention to the topic: "Forming the Values of 'Adal Azamat' and the Principles of 'Law and Order'";
- P.A. Kulik, Master of KASU, lecturer at the Department of Foreign Languages, emphasized the importance of developing critical reading skills in the era of artificial intelligence, and delivered a report on the topic "Developing Critical Reading Skills in the Era of Artificial Intelligence as a Condition for Forming an Intellectual Nation";
- T.V. Galkina, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Kazakh and Russian Philology and Journalism at S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, presented the topic: "Forming Students' Reading Literacy through Work with Educational and Media Texts in the Context of Developing a Reading Culture".
The sectional meeting provided teachers with an opportunity to exchange experiences. Participants discussed issues of improving the quality of education, developing reading skills and critical literacy, as well as the effective use of artificial intelligence for educational purposes.
