Akim of the region Abai Nurlan Urankhaev visited the KSU "Center for Support of children with special educational needs. During the visit, he got acquainted with the material and technical base of the center, talked with the students and listened to their wishes. To date, 53 children between the ages of 3 and 18 are being educated and educated here. There are 39 teachers working with children, of which 24 are teachers and 14 are tutors.
The pupils have at their disposal a spacious dining room with 80 seats, 17 classrooms and 8 workshops where children learn skills in such areas as shoe making, carpentry and sewing, decorative and applied arts, plastering and painting and pottery. There are also classrooms for social and household adaptation, physical therapy, psychological assistance and speech therapy.
The head of the region paid special attention to the state of classrooms, workshops and other spaces where students receive knowledge and practical skills. He visited workshops where children exhibit their work, as well as a carpentry shop where children learn craft professions.
"It is clear that the children put their hearts into their studies, try and achieve excellent results. Such initiatives not only unleash their creative potential, but also prepare them for independent living. We will continue to support these initiatives and create everything necessary for the children," said Nurlan Urankhaev.
Comfortable conditions have been created for children not only in the building, but also in the surrounding area. There is a football field, sports fields, an ice court, a children's slide and cozy gazebos.
The head of the region also visited the KSU "Center for Support of children in need of special social services in the city of Families." Currently, 68 students live in the center. Pupils receive their education at schools No. 20, No. 27 and No. 35 in Semey. There are 39 teachers working with children at the center, including teachers, educators and specialists in psychological and social support.
All necessary conditions have been created in the institution to ensure a comfortable stay and comprehensive development of children. There are rooms for a teacher-psychologist, speech therapist, methodologist, vocal, visual arts, manual labor for boys and girls, as well as rooms for social and household adaptation. A freestyle wrestling hall, a small gym and game rooms are provided for sports activities. There are well-equipped sports grounds on the territory of the center, as well as the Orbita recreation area, where students can spend time outdoors. The students of the center regularly take part in various competitions and win prizes.
One of the important initiatives was the strengthening of the logistics base of the center in 2024. As part of the program, the roof of the building and the dining room of the Orbita recreation area will be overhauled, as well as the doors of living rooms and floors in the main building will be replaced.
