Participation in the meeting of the Halal Islamic Accreditation Forum

The National Online Accreditation Body participated in the 2nd meeting of the General Assembly of the Islamic Forum of Halal Accreditation Bodies (IFHAB). The main goal of IFHAB is to implement a transparent Halal product and service accreditation system in accordance with Sharia principles and technical requirements in international practice.
The meeting brought together 27 accreditation bodies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) member States.
IFHAB Secretary General Dabr Al Abdullatif delivered a welcoming speech to the participants, who welcomed the new IFHAB members represented by the accreditation bodies of Azerbaijan (AzAK) and Algeria (ALGERAC), and also provided current information on the activities of the IFHAB Secretariat for 2024.
The IFHAB Charter was approved at the meeting of the IFHAB General Assembly, the Chairmen of the IFHAB Committees were appointed, in particular: Chairman of the MRA (Mutual Recognition Agreement) Committee Lana Marashdeh (Jordan Accreditation System – JAS-AU); Chairman of the Media and Communication Committee Naif Alobilan (Saudi Accreditation Center – SAAC); Chairman of the Technical Committee Erdem Basdemirci (Halal – NAC Accreditation Agency).

The Islamic Forum of Halal Accreditation Bodies (IFHAB) promotes the implementation of a clear and transparent system for halal products and services in accordance with Sharia law and technical requirements, while creating a high-quality Halal infrastructure in the member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). By integrating with the Institute of Standards and Metrology for Islamic Countries (SMIIC), the IFHAB Forum creates mechanisms for the continuous development and study of best practices among the OIC/SMIIC Member States. The Forum provides representation of various stakeholders: accreditation bodies, conformity assessment bodies, legislators, consumers, and opens up new opportunities that expand mutual trade and knowledge development in the field of Halal.
