On August 28, 2026, the regional August conference of education workers of the East Kazakhstan region was held on the theme "Human Capital, Education, Progress – the Core Values of the People's Constitution."
The plenary session of the conference was attended by the Akim of the region, Nurymbet Amanuly Saktaganov, Vice President of the Ybyrai Altynsarin National Academy of Education of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Gulshat Toktasynovna Mukhtarkhanova, social partners, university rectors, college directors, heads of district and city education departments, representatives of the pedagogical community, and veteran teachers.
As part of the event, an exhibition of innovative digital technologies was organized, and during the plenary session, the Head of the Education Department of the East Kazakhstan region, Kuat Barysuly Okasov, presented a report on "Results of the 2025–2026 Academic Year and New Tasks for the Upcoming Academic Year," where the development directions of the education sector were comprehensively discussed.
Furthermore, within the framework of the conference, sectional platforms in 9 areas will be held, including: preschool education, primary grades, educational work, inclusive and special education, artificial intelligence, social-humanitarian and natural-mathematical disciplines, library science, psychological services, management, and technical and vocational education.
During the conference, a number of teachers were awarded state and regional awards, as well as breastplates from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan: the "Kurmet" Order – 1 teacher, "For Distinguished Labor" – 1, "Veteran of Labor" – 2, "Honored Teacher of the East Kazakhstan Region" – 1, "For Contribution to the Education Sector of the East Kazakhstan Region" – 1, Certificate of Honor from the Akim of the East Kazakhstan Region – 5, Letter of Gratitude from the Akim of the East Kazakhstan Region – 5, the "Ybyrai Altynsarin" breastplate – 2, the "Excellence in Education" breastplate – 4, and the Gratitude of the Minister of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan – 10 teachers were awarded. Certificates for the title and grants of "Best Secondary Education Organization – 2026" were presented:
Grand Prix: KSU "Lyceum No. 44 named after Oralkhan Bokey" of the Education Department of Ust-Kamenogorsk – 20 million tenge;
1st place: KSU "Secondary School No. 9 of the city of Altai" of the Education Department of the Altai district – 18 million tenge;
2nd place: KSU "Kurshim Secondary School No. 5" of the Education Department of the Kurshim district – 16 million tenge;
3rd place: KSU "Saryterek Secondary School" of the Education Department of the Zaisan district – 14 million tenge.
At the conclusion of the August conference, the main tasks to be implemented in the new 2026–2027 academic year were set before the pedagogical community.
