The Majilis of Parliament approved the agreement on the activities of the "Central Asia" Industrial Cooperation Center

At a plenary session held on February 5, 2025, the Majilis deputies approved the Agreement between the governments of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan on regulating the activities of the "Central Asia" International Industrial Cooperation Center.
It will be located near the "Atameken" checkpoints in Kazakhstan and "Gulistan" in Uzbekistan. It will include production sites, warehouses and transport infrastructure. This will allow to increase the speed of cargo transportation, reduce logistics costs, reduce the number of participants in the supply chain, reduce the final cost of products for consumers, increase the speed of delivery and develop production cooperation within the "North-South" corridor.
"According to the agreement, the total area of ​​​​the Center is 100 hectares, of which 50 hectares belong to Kazakhstan and 50 hectares to Uzbekistan. A certain territory will be given the status of a regional industrial zone. The infrastructure of the Center will be built at the expense of extrabudgetary funds,” said Minister of Trade and Integration Arman Shakkaliev at the plenary session.
The Minister noted that the Turkestan regional akimat organized an open competition and selected the main investor who will invest in the development of the Center’s internal and external infrastructure. Currently, the investor is developing design and estimate documentation to provide the Center with the necessary infrastructure facilities.
Technical and construction work is scheduled to be completed in the fourth quarter of 2026, and the official opening of the center is planned for the first half of 2027.
