Along with local executive bodies, public foundations and associations work together in this direction. One of them is the “Bakhytty Shanyrak” public foundation. Its head Botagoz Sultanova spoke about the work of the foundation and the services provided, the official website of the capital's akimat reported.
The “Bakhytty Shanyrak” public foundation, which supports families with disabled children, was established in 2020. Since then, it has been providing comprehensive assistance to children with health problems and their families.
“The uniqueness of our public foundation is that we are not limited to helping children, their relatives are also not left out. In addition to rehabilitation and health classes for children, education and art education, special courses are organized for parents, and if necessary, psychological and legal assistance is provided. I think it is important to work with the child, but we should not forget about the emotional and psychological state of the parents who are in direct contact with him and devote all their time to their child,” said Botagoz Serikbaykyzy.
The number of visitors to “Bakytty Shanyrak” is increasing over time. An environment has been created that allows mothers to get to know each other and establish contacts, and they are always ready to support each other.
According to Botagoz Sultanova, mothers who bring their children to additional classes can effectively use their time, master new skills in courses at the center, and improve their qualifications.
“40 mothers with children with disabilities have had the opportunity to take sewing courses and earn additional income. In addition, advanced training courses have also been opened. Currently, we provide assistance to a total of 1,059 families. The number of children in these families is about 3,000, including 1,138 with disabilities. We try to cover everyone with assistance, of course. Food baskets and hygiene products are provided, and families facing difficult life situations are provided with material assistance,” said the head of the public foundation.
Currently, the “Bakytty Shanyrak” public foundation has a speech therapist, occupational therapist, and psychologist working with children with disabilities, as well as services such as massage, ABA therapy, and sensory integration. About 600 children have already completed rehabilitation courses. In addition, therapeutic and physical education classes are held to help them recover from various illnesses and injuries. 163 children are receiving additional education in English, digital literacy, and other subjects. 150 children are enrolled in chess, handicraft, art therapy, and dombra clubs. The total number of parents who have received legal advice exceeds 300.
